Roger is still hanging in there

Roger, a male Latrodectus mactans, is still coexisting contentedly with his partner.

I’m still disappointed that the female of the pair hasn’t yet produced any egg sacs. You have done your duty, haven’t you, Roger? I need children.

I feel like a nagging mother-in-law now.

Maybe Roger isn’t looking to be eaten after 30 seconds (or however long it takes spiders to do the nasty) of conjugal bliss.

Was nominative determinism a factor in your choice of name for Roger PZ?

    (British (?) slang.)

Ether way hope Roger does his “job” and survives and you get your spider eggs out of it..
