Commencement is coming up in a couple of weeks. I’ve been encouraging all these students to go into science careers, and now I feel like I’ve been throwing them into a shark tank.
Rise up, America. I’ve been to Bucharest, and strolled through the Palace of Parliament — there are ways for a country to rid itself of a tyrant like Nicolae Ceaușescu. Donald Trump and his sycophants next?
To state the obvious, what the fascists are doing right now is pushing the boundaries and seeing what they can get away with.
So far, it is a lot.
Who knew our democracy was so fragile, a few evil people could just walk in and dismantle it.
The latest atrocities are that they are now grabbing native born US citzens and disappearing them.
The headline here isn’t quite accurate.
These children have never been to the countries they got sent to and they are native born US citizens. They aren’t being deported. They are being kidnapped and disappeared without due process because, what good is it to be an ICE thug, if you can’t grab and terrorize a 2 year old kid.

To again state the obvious.
We are all going to have to fight back any way we can.
If we fight, we might well win or we can lose.
If we don’t fight, we are guaranteed to lose to the Fourth Reich.
They did back off and have now announced that all the F1 student visas they cancelled for trivial offenses like parking tickets and fishing license violations would be restored. Just hope they actually update the students records to show this.
Of course, some colleges have already cancelled everything for these students so we shall see.
Ideally sooner rather than later.
Ideally, the next wannabe Lee Harvey Oswald will actually log in some time at the range first.
The good news is that Schmuck L’Orange picked one of the Secret Service agents who let him get shot in the first place to head up the Secret Service. Only the best people! So there’s still hope.
Otherwise, our only hope is that Bobby Brainworm’s complete fuckup in handling the latest bird flu takes out his boss along with most of the Cabinet, since Cheetolini likes to have super spreader events.
The bad news is that it will probably take out a big chunk of the American populace too.

Speaking of Nicolae Ceaușescu, it should be remembered that it was the army who took him out (and fought his Securitate), not the popular uprising that spurred the army to step in to restore order. Just a thought…

Yeah, maybe the Dictator-In-Chief’s moves to oust any honest, ethical military leaders will have a rousing effect…and maybe not.
People tend to forget just how bad things can get- witness the upcoming Romanian elections, where there is an all-too-good chance that they will elect a Soviet sympathizer and we have the whole brutal cycle starting over again.
