The demographic trends are clear that the percentage of white Americans is slowly declining. After the presidential 2012 election, Republicans blamed their defeat on the wide margins they lost among Hispanics and African-Americans and vowed to improve relations with those communities.

The next storyline is the will he/won’t he courtship between speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan, who is the one who is the chair of the party convention, and the presumptive nominee Donald Trump. Although Ryan has been playing coy and hard to get, we know how this will end of course. The person who wins the nomination gets to call the shots and so Paul Ryan will capitulate, the only question being when and how.

Conan O’Brien takes a moment to pay tribute to all 16 Republican candidates who fell under the Trump juggernaut. He gives us the date when they decided to call it quits as well as the reason for doing so. It is interesting that five of them (Rick Perry, Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham, and George Pataki) dropped out even before the first actual contest, the Iowa caucuses, took place on February 1.
