Other than “drive over night and get to the airport at 3:00am” the flight out to Portland was uneventful.
Whenever I make it to the met, I visit the Japanese swords. Some of them, I have considered old friends since I was a kid. To them, I’ll always be a kid.

Computer systems have grown so complex and interconnected that it’s very difficult to identify a failure; back when I started things were simpler and were not as virtualized as they are, now.
We had no idea this was going on, so we were heading toward the arms and armor (naturally) and took a turn through medieval and byzantine art, and walked into another world.
To distract you: this is just some random footage off my camera; I don’t have time to edit it and honestly it’s not that interesting. With a bit of luck, right now, I am either eating dim sum down on Canal St, or wandering around at The Met.
