Seth Meyers has caught up with John Oliver and Samantha Bee is finding humor in politics, and actually informing viewers of issues while entertaining them. They each have their distinctive styles. Bee is the most biting and sarcastic, Oliver provides the most depth, and Meyers is the most genial but they all are worth watching.

I know that there are a lot of George Carlin fans out there and I think they will enjoy this clip of him being interviewed by Jon Stewart in 1997 that has him look back on his 40 years in comedy. (Via Andrea James)
I tend not to pay much attention to Sarah Palin anymore. Her shtick has worn so thin that it is hard to even laugh at her ranting. She never has anything interesting to say and her incoherent speech style long ago ceased to have the novelty that made it worth listening to. But sometimes she reaches new lows that I think are worth sharing.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog attended the Republican National Convention and spoke to media and delegates in his own inimitable style.
Triumph is funny. I find it interesting psychologically that when a puppet says something it is funnier than if the comedian operating the puppet (Robert Smigel) were to have said the same things himself. Perhaps the fun is in having people look at and respond to the puppet when the actual person speaking is right there next to it.
