Heck, I even feel respect for May. Not that her policies are that great, but she is doing a very tough job that she did not start herself and that nobody else wants to do.
By the way, does Scottish supremacy include free distribution of Scotch?

Here in Canada we distinguish between the potable and non-potable Scotch. Assuming you mean the potable type, not a hope. Have you never read “Whiskey Galore”?

Agree completely with your comments on Arden and Merkel. I wish we had a president with a heart like that, rather than frame every good cause as a problem.
I’d also like to add Zuzana Caputova to the list, who recently won the (albeit mostly ceremonial) presidency in Slovakia. Progressive values and a (successful) environmentalist, and still capable of winning the election? Here was us Western European countries snubbing East Europe for their regressive values, and then one country goes and turns the table on us.
Please let her teach other progressives how to win. I’m tired of the many years of right-wing governments. We should really have more women at the helms of our countries, anyway. I have this weird and potentially sexist prejudice that we’d then have less war mongering, more compassion, and more care for our future (okay, okay, I know, there was also Thatcher).
