You want to do something, but you’re pinned down by your job? Atheists, you can always donate to Foundation Beyond Belief. They do good work. Or pick any progressive cause; the ACLU is another good cause, as is Planned Parenthood. Do what you can!
Aye aye Cap’n Ceph: just moments ago PayPal’d FBB.

Tomorrow is also Give to the Max Day (https://www.givemn.org/), where you can get matching donations to many
Minnesota charities, including the MN ACLU, Planned Parenthood of MN, ND, and SD, MN Atheists, and the International Wolf Center (I’m a sucker for charismatic megafauna).

I just gave to Planned Parenthood Action Fund in Mike Pence’s name so he will get the certificate of giving!
I pledged more to PP Federation that is the clinic arm. When that arrives I will send in that money.
Gave to Southern Poverty Law Center.
Gave to Foundation Beyond Belief.
All in last two days. Tried to give to Black Lives Matter but can’t locate a snail mail address yet. If anyone has one please let me know. I have to send checks.
A few months ago I gave to Digby’s blog. She has a PO Box listed on her webpage so it was easy. So did FBB. Tried to give to Shakesville but her page is only set up for online donations.
Loved the irreverent site you posted and plan to use it to find more worthy places to help.

Our Christmas gifts to several family members this year are donations to various worthy causes. We combined the Jezebel list with CharityNavigator and our personal preferences to come up with our choices. Although I do have to admit to a slight preference for NARF just because of the acronym (don’t tell Caine!), that’s not actually why we chose them as one of the recipients.

Planned Parenthood is a worthy charity. But an even better one is Medical Students for Choice. The organization which is destroying the right-to-lifers’ wet dream of a shortage of abortion providers.

And there is NARAL, RAINN, SPLC, NAACP LDF … no shortage of worthy organizations. But another direct action you can do is put solar panels on your roof, or wind turbines, if you can afford to. Use less fossil carbon, even a little less. It hits them in the wallet and helps mitigate the climate crisis.

Forgot to add Mother Jones. Gave to it too yesterday. About to get on the Fuck It site and find another worthy org to give to.
I’ve given in the past to Planned Parenthood, and I will gladly do so again once they dump Cecile Richards – her unprecedented primary endorsement for her BFF HRC was sickening. In the mean time, there are plenty of good organizations to which I donate.

Really? An organization that works for women’s health care supporting a candidate who has consistently worked towards the same goal is unprecedented and, in your eyes, unacceptable? Dude, insistence on ideological purity in politicians is one of the things that helped lose us this election.

Somewhat related, anyone else planning to attend the Million Woman March on Washington on January 21st?
