I put that image up as the wallpaper on my computer, and I’ve been looking at it a bit.
That diaphanous cephalopod is looking back! Or at least looking out of the side of the tank. If you trace each of the limbs, looking through the diaphanous web, you can see that the suckers twist around, and that it is indeed holding itself to the glass. (I thought at first it was just stretching or something, out in the water.) It has its body and eyes toward the glass, and its eyes almost up against the glass. It is looking out, and holding itself where it can look out.
I wonder if the spread and translucent body is helping it scatter light out into the room.
That is gorgeous! It is like a strange spider in a dress.

About 20 years ago I was with friends in Ibiza, Spain (before it became all built-up and crazy) – we were snorkeling in a very quiet cove when I saw a small octopus swimming near us. (Small = ~2.5 feet when it was spread out) I watched it for a long time, fascinated by the graceful beauty of its movements in the water. It was an amazing privilege to be near one of these beautiful creatures. I will never forget that.
That is lovely. It looks like a weeding dress.
Damnation, I meant “wedding dress”.
But that is funny.
You make a better window than a door, you know.

Cephalopod beauty never fails to impress me. Gorgeous.
Is it missing a limb?
Come at me, bro!
That SO looks like the flying head-vampire from the old 1950’s “Not Of This Earth”.

No. Two arms at 12 o’clock.
Aesthetically very pleasing.

Diaphanous is one of my favorite words.

“Come in here and say that shit to my FACE!”
Absolutely beautiful. I shall leave that picture as a romantic token of my affection for my love in the morning.
Fuck you I’m an Octopus!
