Why will presidente tvnfp be assassinated? Place your bets! I, of course, do not endorse the assassination of even the worst people in the world. I may find it understandable that another would want to assassinate them, I would be hard pressed to find it in my heart to condemn such a person, but I do not want to see good people throw away their lives trying to erase bad people.
It’s a challenge, I know. But disclaimers aside, it is important to try to understand one’s current geopolitical situation with bracing discourse and insightful discussion of the facts and potentials etc etc etc. That is to say, I find myself pondering one aspect of the potential assassination of orngedolf shitler: Why?
I will, for now, leave it to others to discuss when, how, who, etc. The question on my mind is simply this: Of the myriad possible motives the assassin may possess, which motive will be dearest to their heart? Why will they assassinate trgkp?
I will consider multiple potential reasons, but before I do, let me just say it’s wild as hell that no matter what evils he does to leftists, a right winger is far more likely to be the triggerman. They’re just that much more likely to kill somebody, and that much more likely to be a heavily armed and erratic thinker with a poor grasp of the reality of potential consequences of their actions. If a q-nazi dreams up a reason to do this and makes it happen, well, them’s the breaks. Stirring that pot to brew up a political base, that was playing with fire. Tfcnp’s nearly been burned by it already.

Life ruined by debt that was about to be forgiven.
Life ruined by losing federal job.
Revenge because he raped the assassin or one of their relatives, on account of he is a rapist that raped people.
To save the US from starting an ultravietnam or two in Mexico or Canada.
To prevent his use of nuclear weapons.
Vengeance for his use of nuclear weapons or to end the ultravietnams he’s already started (i fucken hope not this one).
Did I miss anything? While “swore an oath” could be a military coup, did you know literally every desk jockey in the federal gov has sworn that oath, and a lot of non-federal employees that shouldn’t even have to, like local cops? I wonder if they’ll start changing that oath?

Not quite on topic but I haven’t seen anything in the media about the dead sniper and the why and who that sent him on that path. An amateur analysis from a former < 1/2 MOA shooter. If he was attempt a head shot I would guess he was motivated by anger or hate as that would disfigure, erase the target and that he missed at less than 200 yards makes it hard to believe he had any training.
I’ve been thinking lately that Orange T and the people in his orbit are doing what they’re doing precisely because they’re incompetent. Inept. Useless. They don’t have any chance of doing a good job so they flip the table and make everyone else worry.
This is not a very nice thought to have. It means that all the cruelty and suffering inflicted, all the trashing of basic rights and human dignity isn’t for some epic evil plot. It’s just so some petty fuck-ups can pretend they’re not as incompetent as they actually are.
Vance is more competent than Orange T but that’s not saying much. He can struggles to hold a conversation or debate without generating an uncanny valley feeling. Mike Johnson is more competent than Vance. If he weren’t a whackaloon with bonkers ideas about the world he’d be okay at his job. Rubio is probably the most competent of the bunch. The rest seem about on Vance’s level as far as I can tell.
IMHO, it’s questionable whether things would improve if someone like Johnson stepped in. His agenda would have him pushing against reality too much so I think there’s a very real danger that he’d keep pushing some of the current BS. Until you get to Rubio there just isn’t enough acknowledgement of reality and job competence for the problematic policies to actually change. And even with him you’re betting on what a spineless person who would speak out about human rights and then later help establish a pipeline to a torture prison on command would do once they’re in charge.
This is the real reason no good person would assassinate any of these people. The people themselves are inconsequential schmucks. No account incompetents who could never do their jobs effectively. What needs to be defeated are the ideas they stand for. Without that it won’t matter how many fascist weirdos get shot. In a country this size there will always be more and now they know what lies to tell to get popular support. Some of them might even do it while avoiding lengthy ramblings about water pressure.
i personally don’t regard people willing to do violence or kill for the good of the world as bad people, but the very fact so few of us do is suggestive i might be wrong about that? i’m remembering the cranky irish lady who went all the way to italy to take a potshot at mussolini before wwii.
i also suspect there’s more competence adjacent to the top than one might suspect, even if the competence is suppressed by the clowns, much of the time. grima wormtongue types know pretty well what they’re doing. One of the problems as you mentioned is the ideas, which are rooted in our society so deeply it’s hard to imagine a fix. Another is that the core incompetence that even the cleverest evil types possess is a lack of vision. They’re building a world even they will find utterly intolerable, and just can’t see past the current quarterly profits or the short term sadistic jollies of oppression – can’t see past the ends of their dicks.
