Trump wants the people of Iran to overthrow the regime and now he is going to bomb the infrastructure that these people rely on for basic life comfort. And he is praising Allah. Just seen (on c24 News) a couple of good interviews on this latest Trump obscenity & the war in Iran generally on DW News – interviews with Scott Lucas of Univerity College Dublin & Diba Mirzaei of GIGA (German Inst for Global & Area Studies) which made some good and intresting points. Not on youtube yet that I can find.
There are a lot of reports that the USA and the US media are underreporting US losses in the war with Iran.
It is hard to get reliable information but I absolutely wouldn’t trust US government sources these days.
A few reports.
.1. The intercept claims US casualties, mostly wounded, are now 750.
.2. We are running out of our high end weapon systems.
A patriot missile costs $4 million.
We are hollowing out our defenses in Europe and Asia to move military supplies to the Middle East.
.3. The war is costing a billion dollars a day.

Iran has hit key infrastructure in the Gulf Arab states that host US military bases.
.5. The Strait of Hormuz is still closed and controlled by Iran.
The war isn’t going well for us.
The Trump regime has no idea what to do.

shermanj: the missiles that Iran launches also cost a pretty penny so the shot exchange is ruinous to both sides.
What’s particularly problematic for the US is when the US uses a PAC-3 missile to take out a drone that cost about the same as a car to build. Ukraine has the technology to build cheap interceptors (they use them every night to defend against Russian attacks using variants of the same Iranian drones), but the US hates Ukraine so they have refused to buy it. Various Gulf states, on the other hand, have signed deals with Ukraine.
All of this was completely predictable, discussed in public forums, and ignored by top Trump appointees when they decided to launch this war, because that’s how stupid they are.

Hopefully the US military would refuse the order, which would likely have all sorts of chaotic consequences, but unfortunately I think the risk that Trump will order a nuclear strike on a ‘military target’ (which might be Tehran, Mashhad, or Qom, or…) is describable as ‘far too high, alarm indicated!’. Trump, et al, definition of ‘target’ will be some place they think ‘should be’ desolate…and which is ‘not yet desolate’. If this happens they will say that the action was taken to foster peace/eradicate evil – quite possibly in the same sentence. If this happens there will be a high likelihood of a Russian nuclear strike on target(s) in Ukraine….and Taiwan will have more opportunity than they want to notice China looking at them.
The worse things get the easier it is for things to become still worse. I don’t yet think the previous paragraph is the most probable scenario….but I am upsettingly confident that things are going to become worse than they are now.
