I have featured Chytridoodles‘ work before, and I bought a batch of Chlamy print notebooks. Now they have put the same print on face masks. $12.49 for 1, $40 for 4, and shipping is reasonable (if not fast).
I posted earlier this week about some Chlamydomonas art, just in time for the holidays. Also still available, though, are prints on canvas of Volvox aureus, in the most niche Etsy store ever:
These look great if I do say, and they are ready to hang. 12″ x 12″, $40 on Etsy…would make a great gift for microbe enthusiasts. I still have four of the original eight.
Just in time for holiday shopping, Chytridoodles has a whole line of gear illustrated with a Chlamydomonas print: t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, cell phone cases, and more:
I have an Etsy store. I opened it around the time of the Volvox wall art giveaway, and I’ll be the first to admit that it has a limited selection. Exclusive, you might say.
But I can promise you this: it is the world’s foremost source for micrographs of Volvox aureus printed on canvas. It is truly one-stop shopping if the only thing you need is micrographs of Volvox aureus printed on canvas (what else could you need?). If you are in the market for micrographs of Volvox aureus printed on canvas, you need look no further. Unless you can convince Piotr or Katrin to give up theirs, it is probably the only source for micrographs of Volvox aureus printed on canvas.
Zach Grochau-Wright has kindly given me permission to print the haiku he presented at the Volvox 2017 meeting in St. Louis. Zach may be the most prolific artist in the obscure sub-genre of volvocine poetry, having previously written and performed “Volvocine rap” at the Volvox 2015 meeting. Here it is in its barely-longer-than-his-name entirety:
Brian Dunning’s done some sketchy shit, and he was sentenced to 15 months in prison for it. If you want to know more about that, Rebecca Watson’s scathing rebuke (and links within) is a good starting point. Nevertheless, I still listen to Skeptoid, and I think this new project sounds promising enough that I chipped in ten bucks:
Volvox is a popular name. Add to the list of non-Chlorophyte uses Atelier Volvox (“Volvox Workshop”), a design studio in Switzerland. They seem to sell mainly accents and small furniture, such as Brüderchen:
