Jack won’t be allowed to take walks for the next 2 weeks so I thought this was a good chance to post some of the photos I took over the summer. Today I’m sharing the place we overnighted on the way to Perce. It’s a little place called Saint Luce, Quebec and we arrived just in time to watch the sunset over the St. Lawrence River. There are a few more photos under the fold and you can click for full size.

Just look at those amazing skies… Really gorgeous colors.

It’s so beautiful! And the houses. I do miss me some colourful gingerbread architecture.

Beautiful! I should visit Canada sometime soon, but I’ll need to get a new passport since I unwisely let my old one expire. I remember going a couple of times as a teenager back before you needed a passport …

I simply love the first shot, it looks so peaceful on the one hand but on the other those clouds give it such a dramatic atmosphere.
Also, I’m fascinated by the hanging flowers on the lampposts. That’s a beautiful idea.

I love the oil painting look of the last one.

Nightjar,
It’s fairly common around here to see hanging baskets of flowers on the street lamps.

Wow. If ever there was a postcard picture, that first one is it.

Here that isn’t too common, but the town Kauniainen* (the Swedish name is Grankulla**, it’s often called Grani, by both Finnish and Swedish speakers), which is a wealthy little enclave within the (wealthy and high-tech) city (or collection of suburbs) I live in, did have those last summer.
__
* = Kaunis means beautiful, so it could be something like Beautytown in English 8-)
** = Spruce Hill, the proportion of Swedish speakers is high there, but they are no longer a majority.
