The parodies mocking Trump begin in earnest

It has been a while since I posted any of the Downfall Hitler parody memes but you knew that the parallels between Trump hunkered down in the White House wondering what the hell he can do and Hitler in his bunker during his last days offered too many ripe opportunities to resist. This is one that really captures what I think is likely going through his mind.

Trump is still in denial and tweeting away that he has still won and that all will be revealed soon.

Meanwhile the landscaping company whose back lot was used for Giuliani’s hilarious press conference is now hawking merchandize making fun of the whole thing.

Four Seasons Total Landscaping – a Philadelphia groundskeeping company situated between a crematorium and a sex shop where on Saturday Rudy Giuliani somehow held a press conference about baseless claims of voter fraud – has swiftly sought to cash in on its newfound fame, selling merchandise emblazoned with Trump-inspired puns.

“MAKE AMERICA RAKE AGAIN”, read one sticker on sale on the company website on Monday. It also featured the phrase “LAWN AND ORDER!” The stickers were selling for $5 each.

I never got the Hitler parodies. They are difficult to enjoy when one speaks both German and English, the disparity between the subtitles and spoken word is extremely distracting from both.

I’ve got the same problem -- in most of these parodies the English and the German are completely at odd with each other. This one was on point, though. I especially liked when the original said “Mein Fuehrer”, while the subtitles read “Mr. President”.

@Jörg, maybe it is because both German and English are both foreign languages for me, so in order to understand either, I have to concentrate and not to be distracted. I subconsciously use subtitles only as an aid in understanding the spoken word. so when I try to concentrate on the spoken word, I only glance at the subtitles when I have difficulty understanding it and when I try to read the subtitles, I subconsciously still listen to where they match with the sound. And I cannot “tune out” one and concentrate only on the other so when there is a glaring disparity, it throws me off. If the spoken language were something I do not understand at all, it would be easy.

Or maybe it is just me.

    That’s what I thought.

    No.

re mailliw @5: I would wager that The Orange Toddler-Tyrant openly cheats in sight of everyone and dares them to call him out on it.

    Oh, he does.

How and why President Trump cheats at golf — even when he’s playing against Tiger Woods

Trump doesn’t just cheat at golf. He cheats like a three-card Monte dealer. He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: “Pele.”

@5 Charly: I’m Dutch, understand German and speak English. And I’ve no problem at all. Indeed not all parodies using Der Untergang are good; this one is OK but far from the best.
Bruno Ganz was an excellent actor.

re jenorafeuer @9: I would really love for his rounds of golf to be videoed completely and a PGA official to give an appropriately honest score for each round. And publish the findings. With the evidence. That would probably hurt his fee-fees worse than losing to Biden.
