WTF? Who is this Erika Kirk weirdo, other than the Charlie Kirk’s widow and a former Miss Arizona? She’s now going to be in charge of Turning Point USA, which is great — she’s going to eventually kill the organization, so more power to her. But now…
Donald Trump has appointed Erika Kirk, the widow of murdered rightwing activist Charlie Kirk, to a key advisory board of the US Air Force Academy.
No mention of her qualifications or why she was even considered for the position. It’s just part of Trump’s general policy of packing all kinds of positions with clowns, incompetents, and grifters. Look who else is serving on this advisory board:
Other people appointed by the president in March 2025 include the Republican Alabama US senator Tommy Tuberville, and Dina Powell, who was deputy national security adviser for strategy during the first Trump administration.
A number of Congress members from both parties make up the bulk of the rest of the panel, which includes two other Republican US senators elevated by John Thune, the chamber’s majority leader; they are Kevin Cramer of North Dakota and Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, named recently as Trump’s pick to replace the fired homeland security secretary Kristi Noem.
In other words, the Air Force Academy is simply a dumping ground for every failed twit in the Republican party. They claim that their role is to inquire “into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters” of the Colorado Springs military training facility,” whatever that means. The clue, though, is Colorado Springs, the notorious center of televangelist/religious nutjobbery in the country.
I know that Candace Owens is spinning a whole set of conspiracy theories about Kirk. I don’t need to hear about them.
I think that’s pretty straightforward:
morale, discipline – Gay and trans hatred
curriculum, instruction – Christian indoctrination and historical revisionism
physical equipment, fiscal affairs – Ways to direct public funds to friends and relatives
academic methods and other matters – Stacking the deck, so we remain in charge forever.
Looks like Charlie’s murder is the best thing that ever happened to Erika. Per Wikipedia, “She holds a degree in American Legal Studies from Liberty University”…not a strong recommendation. And “she is studying for a doctorate in biblical studies as of 2025″…and I’m sure their “biblical studies” is more Christian Nationalist dogma rather than actual biblical studies. I’m willing to bet she hasn’t had a single class in Biblical Greek or Hebrew, much less Aramaic.

One of the things that ticked me off about Erika Kirk’s dead husband, was his appropriating “Charlie” as his name. It has the sound of someone who’s lighthearted, kind, and friendly. Rather than the inflamed, malignant asshole he was.
It’s so sad that our AF Academy has been infiltrated by the RWNJs.
It’s very difficult to be proud of our military life nowadays, as we watch our benefits being cut and our proud traditions being spoiled. Kegsbreath is dragging what is left of our military culture through the mud as he misrules the military with “no guardrails”.
The U.S. Air Force has long been saturated with Christian Nationalists and nut jobs. So she will fit right in. Peter Thiel gave TPUSA 50 million dollars..Charlie Kirk had at least a sense of showmanship. Waddling his scrawny ass into college campuses and challenging atheist students to debate. But only for five minutes. He counted on these students to not know much more about the Bible than he did. Sadly.

Seems under Trump the answer to both of those is looking good on TV and being a big enough suck up and fan of the orange living Dumpster fire.

Of course Candace Owens is spinning a whole lot of conspiracy theories about Kirk. Among other things, she’s still jealous that she doesn’t have anywhere near the influence that Kirk did (or does for his wife), and wants people to be paying attention to her again.
