If I have to wear a dress, I’m willing — it’s a small price to pay. I’d also be flattered if I got a man to look at me like that.
In my case, I think it’s going to take a heck of a lot more than just a skirt, sad to say.

Do not some of your new students give you that look of incredulity on the first day of class?

Porter’s gown was amazing and he carried it flawlessly. Velvet is a very heavy fabric, so what did Porter do? He and his designer decided not only to use head to toe velvet but to use it with folds and underskirts to make the gown even more substantial! If I had to guess, that’s at least 40 lbs of cloth, just in the skirt.
His work in Pose is also amazing, so if you haven’t yet seen it, definitely do.

Yes, I agree with the tweet. And Glenn Close (who wore a stunning dress herself).

Didn’t watch the Oscars or any coverage, so from the tweet that all went over my head until I looked it up. So he had two versions of it? The half caff Scarlett O’Hara and the floor length Neo? Both are pretty fabulous. And given what Close is wearing, I think she’s got leave to gawk. :D

And I certainly would never complain if Glenn Close looked at me that way.

Huh. It didn’t seem like an approbatory reaction to me.

It is.

Damn he does look pretty in that dress. He should have a permanent invitation to Oscars.
