I’ve watched your many of your videos without falling asleep. I’m an engineer.

You showed us a picture where you put the devil cat to sleep by holding her. You have talent. Don’t read too much into it, other than they both felt secure in your arms.
Your grandson, being human with a long period of education, has a long way to go before even declaring a college interest. I’ve seen reports where five years post degree, a majority of young adults have moved on to other vocations.

You might have it backwards, PZ. Perhaps all those people falling asleep when you speak are supposed to be your grandchildren.

Poopyhead is indeed, as usual, confused here. Whilst people do fall asleep during his droning on and on and on and on and on, so does he. It’s a race to see who wakes up first and quietly sneaks out of the room. Poopyhead has the advantage here as he is generally standing, or at least not slumping in his chair, and so when he falls asleep, the head — rather quickly — goes KLUNK! on the desk or evil cat. He wakes, presumably accompanied by screams (his) if the evil cat was the momentary headrest, whilst the students are somewhat more secure in their slumbers. This results in poopyhead having a distorted, and sometimes bloody, view of his popularity.

My husband (an engineer) has always had the same talent. He could take anyone’s crying, colicky baby in his arms and have the child sleeping in five minutes. Several desperate moms asked me to hire him out. Our kids have taken full advantage of his talent once the grandkids started arriving.

Hmm. Falls asleep listening to a biologist. First picture in last post obviously shows a thoughtful fellow. Must be a theoretical physicist.
It could be destiny. Your middle name starts with Z. I don’t want to pry, but… is the rest of it just a bunch more Zs?

A very human photo of you PZ. It’s just a really nice picture.

Aawww. That’s so wonderful.
Hey, fellow grand father. I know just how you feel.
“What do I do now?”
Just hold him.
That’s all you can do. Unless you can hum a lullaby.

I think he’s going to grow up to be a biologist!
Who knows, maybe he’ll grow up to be an associate professor in biology at a small liberal arts university in Morris, Minnesota.
PZ, as an experience expert, you know what it’s like — you’re going to save him from this fate, aren’t you?
