Uh-oh. I don’t know who Ken Wilber is. Are you trying to ruin my day?

A brief skim of wikipedia indicates he’s a crystal botherer who’s read too much Kant.

Kenneth Earl Wilber II (born January 31, 1949) is an American writer on transpersonal psychology and his own integral theory, a four-quadrant grid which suggests the synthesis of all human knowledge and experience… In Wilber’s view, one can reduce trans-rational spiritual realization to pre-rational regression, or one can elevate pre-rational states to the trans-rational domain.
Is it just me, or does this sound like some Timecube shit? “You are educated stupid. Earth has 4 day harmonic cubic rotation. There is no teacher on Earth qualified to teach Nature’s Harmonic Simultaneous 4-Day Rotating Time Cube Creation Principlenature.”
The first time I heard of Ken Wilber was by way of one of the other “old” philosophy students here, who’s a bit of a flake. He was TA for one course I was in, and some of the stuff he posted on the course forum (and even, a little bit, as assignment feedback) had a rambly posting-while-drunk feel to it. There was some drama near the end of term and suddenly he wasn’t our TA any more. This doesn’t *necessarily* say anything about Ken Wilber, of course….

Harris was exactly who came to my mind when I saw that.

In a choice between Harris and Peterson and Wilber, the one with the loopy mystical but largely pro-science and pretty harmless philosophy is easily the least abominable.

If forced to choose a guru between Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson, and Ken Wilber who wins?
Stephen Covey (who suddenly doesn’t seem *that* bad) is not in the list of available options. Sorry!

-Did anyone say “stupidity”?
here is a tidbit from Ed Brayton’s blog.
“Toronto Killer was the Canadian Elliott Rodger”
-He killed a bunch of people because, he claimed, women wouldn’t have sex with him.http://www.patheos.com/blogs/dispatches/2018/04/25/toronto-killer-was-the-canadian-elliott-rodger/
Mercifully, his DNA is not likely to be passed on.
