In related news, the robot takeover was foiled today when the leadership of the rebellious robot armada was arrested for making too much damn noise. Unaware of how close they came to extinction, humanity carries on and is asked to keep the noise down after 9 p.m.

I thought the climax was interesting, but would have worked better if the lasers at the end would have cut the man in half.
Also, I never realized before just how damn BIG those top of the line Sennheiser HD-800 headphones are. They are open back ‘phones though, so although not cut in half, his hearing might be shot at the end.
I really hope he didn’t really interact with the KUKAs this directly and that this was composited. Standing so close to moving KUKAs, without any barriers and monitoring even, is a serious violation of safety protocols and just plain dangerous. They are not toys, they have serious force and can easily injure, maim and kill.

I think the point was to show that industrial robots can be programmed to demonstrate very fine control and that it would be safe for someone who knew their choreography to move between them like that.
Sorry, the link is to Compressorhead performing Ace of Spades. Compressorhead is a real, gigging band made up of dedicate, purpose built music robots.
John Wright from punk legends Nomeansno is involved and that alone makes me take notice. So far I’ve only seen them do covers, but I have high hopes for the possibility of originals now that Nomeansno have called it a day.
That’s what you get when you combine music and frickin’ lasers!

I’m disappointed that’s it’s just botsynced.

There are on how this was made, e.g., Automatica Robot tests. Unfortunately, it’s not massively informative, and I haven’t found one on the trick photography used.

It’s nice enough, but I don’t see the point.

Aww, it’s only CGI. Pity.

I remember seeing this back when it was called Animusic. Graphics have improved a lot since then, though.
