Exist somewhere a calculation for the maximum size a moulting creature can reach in land? Tarantulas are pushing the boundaries, guess.

Agree.
Video good.
Voice over stupid.

Used to keep this same species, G.rosea, and got to see that live, it was awesome O_O

Aughgh rubber Johnny D: Just made spider moulting terrifying instead of fascinating.

Since so many people people hated the voiceover I watched the video without it. Fascinating. Then I listened to the voiceover and checked Holms’ link @7. I doubt I’ll become a fan of Aphex Twin.

Those discarded exoskeletons are fun! “Look, it’s you ten minutes ago!”

Gotta go with the others here: That COULD have been cute if not for the disturbing sounds and voices. Urgh.

Not so sure if I would count as an araknophobe. I only drank it once. Back in college. While playing liars poker. Ended up with multiple stitches in my hand when I tried to open a window in my dorm room. So I avoid arak now. Not sure if that qualifies as araknnophobia, but I . . .
What?
Oh.
Arachnophobe.
Never mind.
Trebuchetsays
How the heck do these critters manage to do that in the wild without being eaten? Even without the sound?
John Horstmansays
@Trebuchet #18: Well, I know a lot of tarantulas burrow, so maybe they usually do it in the safety of their homes?

Arrack. Different spelling, same problem. Blegh.

I like spiders. I just don’t like them on me. I don’t care for them being near me either because that’s too close to being on me.
I laughed when the spider was feeling itself up, like, “okay, do I have all my parts?” *pat pat pat* “Yup, all there.”

I am an arachnophobe. Believe me, I shake from it at times, which both amuses and irritates my wife. She’s better about taking care of them than I am. That said, I love the video. As long as there’s glass between us, I’m fine. And, yes, the audio ruined it and freaked me out too.

Invertebrates are so bizarre. I love it

Significantly better with the sound turned off.

That was kinda creepy, mostly thanks to the voice-over.
THIS (a little girl having a tea party with 3 pet tarantulas) is adorable.

A million times this! That voiceover was … what? A baby in a microwave? What was that cracking breaking sound? *Much* better with the sound off.
Holms says
Agreeing with frog, that voiceover ruined it. And here’s why.
Holms says
FFS.
