There are a lot of reasons why I want action on climate change, but one very personal one is that I hate hot weather. When the temperature gets above 90F, I’m reduced to a puddle of sweat sitting in front of a fan. The prospect of longer, hotter heatwaves as I grow older may well be the grindstone that shapes me into a bitter old man a few decades in the future.

The thing to do is find somewhere that is predicted to grow cooler, and move there. Near the runoff from the Greenland ice sheet, maybe.

Fans are good. They’re not super energy efficient, though.
I used to take a turkey roasting pan and put about 6″ of cold tap water in it, then put my feet in it while I sit in front of the computer. That works aces.

every summer i used to write/draw comics about how i hate summer, until one year it was too hot to work, and i just kinda fell off. we’ll win the war on heat eventually, when the universe ends.
