I once believed in Eden, and in Adam and his Eve
I believed in Satan’s serpent; his intention to deceive.
Eve’s decision doomed humanity to misery and woe—
I believed it without question, cos the bible told me so. [Read more…]
The atheist told me he “lacked belief”;
That the burden of proof was on those who believe
The ubiquitous taunting: “you can’t disprove God”
Was fallacious—just what did they hope to achieve? [Read more…]
The “new atheist” said with a smile
“Yes, I’m godless–you’ll get no denial–
But freethought sure looks
If you judge from the books
Like the “new” has been old for some while!” [Read more…]
I’ve just met a straw-man called “Spocking”; it’s shocking,
But some might believe it’s how atheists act!
Where logic is king, not emotion—the notion
That every decision is based upon fact
These atheists put their reliance in science
Forgetting illusory “feelings” or “dreams”
Eschewing all base superstition; their mission
Is reason, perfected… or that’s how it seems.
What all people need, to be working, is “Kirking”,
Humanity’s hero—with all of his flaws
Kirk’s quirks are not bugs with space creatures—they’re features!
And Spock’s an affront to humanity’s cause!
It’s Kirkish to strive, boldly going—no knowing
The odds, cos what counts is emotion, not thought
The godless feel nothing, quite clearly (or nearly)

But they can’t disbelieve in a thing that is not,
Or the concept just wouldn’t make sense!
And thus atheists prove that my God does exist,
While their own claims are purely pretense. [Read more…]
Though I haven’t read the journals
And I haven’t read the books
And I’m kinda sorta iffy on the theory
I’m dismissing evolution;
I don’t like the way it looks,
And its seeming contradictions leave me leery [Read more…]
I wish I could talk to the animals—
To the lions and tigers and bears
To hear all their animal worries
And soothe all their animal cares [Read more…]
The stories in our narratives
Grow stranger in re-telling—
Man, you should have seen the fish that got away!
And a parent’s tale of family lore
Can often be compelling—
You’d have seen it, if you hadn’t slept that day!
They promote a faith in fantasy
They should, perhaps, be quelling
So they see their child’s thinking led astray
But it seems to serve a purpose:
It’s the Catholic faith they’re selling
So a miracle’s a miracle, ok? [Read more…]
He’s the loyal opposition
And he visits every day
He hates every word that’s written
(Which he’s quick enough to say)
In the comments, you will notice
His opinions on display
He’s a regular complainer
But he will not go away [Read more…]
