From Think Progress:
Sex columnist Dan Savage has offered a new threat to Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum: If Santorum continues to attack gays and lesbians during his campaign, Savage will expand his “google problem” by redefining “Rick.” Savage led a campaign to redefine “Santorum” in 2003 after Santorum compared homosexuality to bestiality and pedophilia. Other people named Rick chimed in to urge Santorum to heed Savage’s threat.

I liked the video. There were some good laughs. I’m happy it was on funny or die. I anticipate Rick Santorum calling this online terrorism and / or blackmail.
Akheloios says
Poor Rick Santorum, his own children can’t google his name because they’d find out what an unpleasant bigot he is.
the_Siliconopolitan says
Well, if only his ancestors had done the sensible thing on Ellis Island, and changed their name when they were told the medical definition.
Steppenwolf says
Absolutely beautiful. With all due respect to every other Rick out there I hope Santorum stays true to course for at least long enough for us to hear that definition. And then I hope he suddenly goes through a beautiful atheist conversion and stops spreading his vile, hateful bullshit through our political spectrum. Incidentally I only became aware of Rick Santorum’s existence when I read the 2003 article where Savage redefined his name. Savage’s definition comes to mind first whenever I hear the word Santorum.

Get ready for a whole new kind of Rickrolling!

Ha! HA! Sweet digital Karma! “It’s not like you can change your name to Dick.” Evil genius indeed. Santorum just can’t seem to get the stink off.

You mean to say that he doesn’t regale his children with stories of the villainy of the gays at dinner? Because it sounds like he has homophobe tourette’s. “Hi, hon, how was your day?””It was good. Gay people fuck dogs. I helped pass some legislation making it harder to be a woman and then had a haircut. I really hate queermosexuals and wish they would die. After lunch, just some politickin’. Gays are nazis. How was your day?”
Akheloios says
I just liked the conceit that he has to hide his homophobia from his family, the same way LGBTs have had to hide their sexuality/gender in case they are ostracised. When he claimed his family had been affected in some way because of Dan Savage’s redefinition of his name, it showed so much hypocracy that it needed to be recast in the other direction.I’m not great at satire, I’m more comfortable with raging sarcasm, but you can see what I was vainly grasping towards :)
Surgoshan says
Ah! I get it. He goes to the park at night to meet up with guys to hate on gays, all quiet and secret like. Sitting in a bathroom stall, tapping out .. / …. .- – . / –. .- -.– …
Nurseingrid says
Holy shit, that was funny. I think Dan must have been inspired by the move “The Aristocrats” when he wrote that definition.
Forbidden Snowflake says
Heh, that Santorum guy must be in a froth over this.

I have to say that my amusement is somewhat tempered by the whole “intimidation” thing. I think Dan Savage is 100% right on this one, but the concept of changing policy because you don’t want someone to harm your reputation on the internet bugs me. That said, I doubt Santorum WILL change his course, though he might lay off the bestiality metaphors. His supporters are such that if he did, they would see it as a sign of weakness and they’d be all over him like those green guys in Galaxy Quest. Also, come to think of it, there are a number of implicit name threats out there already, in a way (baby killer etc.). I dunno – it’s funny, but it bugs me a little.

This is why I love Dan Savage.

There are several uses of the Background Check. There are many people who are involved in various kinds of criminal activities. These people are those who trigger others to suffer a great deal simply because of the activities that they are indulged in. If a person who has a history of arrest on criminal charges has applied for a job, then the employer will do nicely not to recruit the person because as soon as the individual is recruited, the individual might again get involved in various criminal activities. The documents and the money that is in the business are not safe from the person. So, this is some thing that needs to be given a lot of thought. This is something that will help you to get the greatest workers and reject the ones who are not up to your liking.
