Last year, something pretty incredible happened:
And guess what??
They’re coming out with a brand new 2019 calendar sporting, as they say, “More glitter, more b’ys!”
And they weren’t kidding when they said ‘more glitter!!!’ Check out the glow coming from this guy’s beard:
Last year they donated for mental health:
Burly dudes with burly beards graced the pages in mermaid costumes in an effort to raise money for Spirit Horse NL, a group that offers people dealing with mental health issues the opportunity to interact with horses as a therapeutic measure.

“I think it’s important for all men to show that there’s much more to us than this sort of wall that we put up here, this armour we wear, that we’re big tough guys and that’s all there is to us,” said Hasan Hai, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Beard and Moustache Club and the man behind the calendars.
“We are emotional creatures and I think when we hide that, when we push that down, we’re doing more harm to ourselves and kids around us, than we are when we’re actually being our normal emotional selves.”
This year, from the calendar site, the recipient is Violence Prevention Newfoundland & Labrador:
Violence Prevention Newfoundland & Labrador will be the main recipient of the funds we raise this year. We wanted to help them continue their very important work of changing attitudes and breaking down stereotypes. Their goal is to challenge negative attitudes of masculinity, and empower men to become meaningfully engaged in violence prevention.
If you want to support them, you can buy a calendar here, as well as preview a few more (fantastic!) photos. Too much fun is being had, might as well get in on it and enjoy it the entire year. I just hope they ship to Latvia.
And in the Newfoundland spirit, here’s Great Big Sea covering REM, and, to my mind, doing it better. More fun!

I feel a vague connection with those guys. The same sea (the Sea of the Earth) that’s here and there has touched their beards and mine.
