I thought The Ten-Cent Plague was really interesting. It’s a great case-study in how a single ideologue who decides something is bad can energetically lie up a storm about it and have very real impact.

Yes, all that, and it really does highlight the single note of christianity. In this case, it was the catholic church taking up against comic books, but the quotes from various catholic personnel are striking, because it’s same damn song they are all singing today: _______ will destroy morals and religion! It will be the downfall of society!
