Donald Trump is so ignorant and illiterate that apparently his aides read their briefing notes aloud, to him, like he’s a child with no attention-span. So, I can be sure that – if he’s ever held a copy of a book – he probably hasn’t delved past the cover.
When I started seeing stories about this, my immediate reaction is “someone’s lying.” That’s a given, because exaggerating things just a bit is built into every part of the fabric of US military procurement. As is secrecy, greed, and other bits of Lovecraftian evil. So, take everything here with a grain of salt because public information is mighty thin, right now.
Currently, I am in the process of making a small batch (4) of kiridashi. It’s a pretty strict design and, while it probably looks like it’s easy to just make a single large flat bevel, it’s not.
I suspect this is not the first such incident, but it’s the first that anyone has been willing to cop to. I also suspect that, somewhere, a lawyer is screaming, “NO SHUT UP YOU IDIOT!”
