Also check out at the 3:05 mark, public groper Lauren Boebert crossing herself.
OverlappingMagisteria says
I notice she does not actually know how to cross herself. Its forehead, stomach, left shoulder, right shoulder. She does forehead left shoulder, right shoulder, left shoulder again. It’s supposed to draw a cross, not a weird opened triangle.
xohjoh2n says
@1:
Well, obviously. It’s all performative without the belief, and the side-to-side action is more noticeable and looks more “crossey” than the right way.
seachange says
I think all y’all’s interpretation is generous.
Green is dumb. Boebert, not as dumb. (Perhaps. They don’t love each other.) It isn’t exactly a cross-party spat there. Maybe she’s *not* crossing herself and is instead doing some weird racist hand-sign that is meant to look kinda like crossing yourself? Boebert is not Catholic. She is a born-again Christian and folks like that don’t consider Catholics to even be Christian. We’ve seen them gibber in the Arizona state legislature so sure, why not?
Over the years I have heard talk and seen print about how our congress isn’t all loud and boisterous as the Unitedkingdomese parliament and how this is bad for actual democracy. … Gosh.

Anyway, at least they’re not calling people “SpewGargler” or “Fecalbumbulum” so a cut above our resident troll. X-D
(The other difference being I couldn’t care less about an apology from the troll. I find his self-humiliation hilarious.)
John Morales says
By ‘they’ you don’t intend to mean Rabbis and Priests, do ya? Heh.
Cogency was never your strong suit.
Anyway. You are the resident troll, Snotgobbler.
Projecting that onto me is pointless and stale by now.
I respond to your attempted jibes, just as I’m doing right now.
As you know I will.
You reap what you have sown over lo these many years now, Bumpicker.
(Lemons, lemonade)

So. You have nothing whatsoever to say about the topic at hand, but about me… well.
John Morales says
I find your need to employ the third person rather informative, SullenBlob.
Gotta love how you simultaneously hold that I am trolling and looking for confrontation whilst being a delicate snowflake melting down.
How you simultaneously hold that I am deliberately misunderstanding stuff whilst being hyper-literal.
Etc.
(Obsessive people will obsess, and you exhibit that to a T)
John Morales says
Oh, right. You’re currently essaying the notion that I lack self-esteem, Bubby.
Heh.
You could hardly have picked a less-appropriate person for that silly conceit.
You might as well claim I am devoutly religious. That would be a bit more credible.
But sure, go for it.
Never stopped you before, and reality matters naught to obsessive people with an obsession to appease.
I’m sure everyone will very much enjoy the fruit of your labours, as I respond to you.
Tethys says
The most amusing part is Raskin valiantly trying to control his facial expressions after Crockett called MTG a ‘“ bleach blonde butch body”.
AOC needs to adopt the quaint Southern phrase, “Well bless your heart!” when dealing with the baby girl.
Boebert will be gone in this years election, and I have high hopes that the incoming Congress will be majority Democrat to get Moscow Magarie kicked out of congress before her term expires.
Neither of them are particularly intelligent afaict.
They are both expert grifters.

“Boebert will be gone in this years election….”
We sure hope so. Looks like Ike McCorkle will get the Dem nomination. I think he could beat Boebert just on his name. “Ike McCorkle, Force Recon, USMC vs. Lauren Boebert, Beetlejuice Groper.”
Tabby Lavalamp says
Honestly. with Green and Boebert there this was inevitable, when they are more interested in fundraising and being famous than they are in governing. Green’s initial was nothing more than a naked attempt to curry favour with the Hamberdler after she was furious over not being invited to be part of the gaggle of bootlicking cosplayers at his trial. Rep. Crockett was absolutely right in calling her out over it, and the dimwitted Comer continues to show just how ineffectual he is.
Pierce R. Butler says
AOC raised an interesting question afterwards:
John Morales says
Pierce: “Thanks to MTG’s meltdown, the vote to initiate contempt proceedings against Garland was successful.”
Care to clarify what is the supposedly interesting question about which you adduced this opinion piece?
I took a look:
“If it wasn’t a set-up, they sure seem to have taken advantage of Greene’s non-sequitor [sic] to ram through the contempt vote.
I also heard that there was quite a bit of drinking going on. Marbge is rumored to be in her cups frequently and apparently the clown show that made the pilgrimage to Dear Leader’s trial on Thursday did quite a bit of tippling on the plane back home. So who knows? I also heard that there was quite a bit of drinking going on. Marbge is rumored to be in her cups frequently and apparently the clown show that made the pilgrimage to Dear Leader’s trial on Thursday did quite a bit of tippling on the plane back home. So who knows?”
Is it whether or not it was a setup? Seems like it.
If so, the opinionated person you quote doesn’t really think it’s in question, do they?
Or is it about O-C’s lack of clarity about the supposed move’s legitimacy?
If so, it’s clearly not obviously illegitimate, right?
Maybe it’s tactical! 😉

Ah well, opinion pieces as news items; innuendo influences average people, after all.
