Now that he has become the first president in history to impeached twice, he is slowly starting to lose his allies too.
Donald Trump has fallen out with his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and is refusing to pay the former New York mayor’s legal bills, it was reported, with the president feeling abandoned and frustrated during his last days in office.
…According to the Washington Post, relations between Trump and Giuliani have dramatically cooled. Trump has instructed his aides not to pay Giuliani’s outstanding fees. The president is reportedly offended by Giuliani’s demand for $20,000 a day – a figure the lawyer denies, but which is apparently in writing. White House officials have even been told not to put through any of Giuliani’s calls.
…Trump is reportedly unhappy that members of his inner circle have failed to defend him following last week’s deadly attack on the US Capitol by a mob of his supporters. Many have been silent following Wednesday’s vote in the House of Representatives to impeach Trump for a second time.
Those who have reportedly failed to step up include Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, his son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, and his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, responsible for indulging Trump’s belief that the election was rigged.
“The president is pretty wound up,” one senior administration official told the Post. “No one is out there.”
Seth Meyers ridiculed the mealy-mouther defense of Trump by his most abject acolytes.
Maybe Trump can turn this into an achievement using his signature rhetorical style:
“It was a big, beautiful impeachment. It was the most bipartisan impeachment in history. Nobody is better at getting impeached than me. Everybody says so.”

I live in Portland and I am so damned tired of hearing about the riots in portland and all the damage and looting that supposedly took place. Almost all of the demonstrations that took place were in a four to five square block area centered on the federal building. Was there damage done, yes, but most of it was done by people other than the BLM protestors. There was minor demonstrations at the north precinct police station, the southeast police precinct and at the police union headquarters. The demonstrations at the police stations and the union headquarters were usually less than a hundred people. Antifa was not a noticeable presence in any of these demonstrations. Portland was not on fire and the only people who called them riots were the president and the police so they had an excuse to tear gas and beat and in some cases abduct people of the street in unmarked vans by people in combat gear and no identifying marks. Didnt hear the right complaining about that. The way they treated the insurrectionists was gentle by comparison.

I was just thinking last night… instead of a scarlet letter “A”, they should brand a giant “L” on Trump’s forehead.

With zero conscience, trump is a psychopath, ne plus ultra. He sincerely believes he is entitled to do whatever he wants without suffering even the slightest consequence that might go against his interests.

Back to front, so he can see it right in the mirror. Also, if Trump ever did the “LOSER” gesture with thumb and forefinger to forehead, you *know* the fuckwit did it with his left hand so it looked back to front.

Our kids live in Portland about 8 miles from the downtown area where these events reported on the news happen.
My Dad routinely calls them to ask if they are OK when Portland is in the news.
And my Dad lives in Northern Virginia about 10 miles from downtown Washington DC.
On 6 January 2021, I suggested to our kids that they should call their Grandpa and ask if he’s OK with all the rioting just to reverse their customary roles.
