He is back from a one-week hiatus to comment on recent developments.
Incidentally, Trump has received much ridicule for saying that his suggestion about the need for testing whether injecting disinfectants might be a cure for Covid-19. He got even more ridicule when he tried to downplay his dangerous idiocy by saying that the comment was made ‘sarcastically’ when it was clearly not. It seemed like he did not understand what ‘sarcasm’ meant. But I read that what he might have meant to say was ‘hypothetically’. That would have made more sense. But while that explanation may be giving him some underserved credit, it also shows that Trump has difficulty with polysyllabic words, which is consistent with his general level of verbal incompetence.
He was still complaining about his sarcasm not landing a couple days ago, while trying to defend his rant about “Noble” prizes (never mind that he clearly doesn’t know the difference between a Nobel and a Pulitzer).
“Does anybody get the meaning of what a so-called Noble (not Nobel) Prize is, especially as it pertains to Reporters and Journalists? Noble is defined as, ‘having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals.’ Does sarcasm ever work?”
Since no one can ever tell (see his claim that he was NOT being sarcastic when he said, “Oh, that’s a shame,” when he learned Romney was quarantined with a positive coronavirus test), maybe he should try not being sarcastic.
Was he also being sarcastic when he threatened to sue them and tweeted, “When will the Noble Committee act? Better be fast!” Or is he too stupid to understand there are no grounds for a lawsuit, and that he has no authority over the Swedish and Norwegian Nobel Committees? I’m guessing the latter after his snit with Denmark over Greenland…
