Lindsey Graham is a sociopath

I have mentioned many times before how political leaders in the US constantly and publicly debate attacking, invading, bombing, and even using nuclear weapons against other countries, and our media not only does not react with shock, they encourage this behavior by having them appear again and again. The latest example is Lindsey Graham whose folksy manner provides a thin veneer over the mentality of a mass murderer. Here he is, calmly discussing with the hosts of an NBC news show why he thinks Donald Trump is going to take military action against North Korea.

And what about the likelihood of heavy casualties? No problem! Because, as Graham explains, “If thousands die, they die over there and they are not going to die here.” As always, even one American life is too precious to lose (unless of course they are poor or black or other minority and they die for any reason other than a ‘terrorist’ attack which, by definition, is an act committed by a Muslim) but thousands of lives of people of color overseas are shrugged off as nothing to worry about. And yet TV news anchors who would not let Charles Manson calmly discuss the benefits of mass murder will let the likes of Graham do so.

Graham is often regarded as someone with a sense of humor but he is in reality the embodiment of a sociopath.

Meanwhile secretary of state Rex Tillerson plays the good cop to Graham’s bad cop and Trump’s unhinged cop, addressing North Korea directly.

“We do not seek regime change. We do not seek an accelerated reunification of the peninsula. We do not seek an excuse to send our military north of the 38th parallel,” Tillerson said during a surprise visit to the agency’s briefing room on Tuesday.

“We are not your enemy, we are not your threat, but you are presenting an unacceptable threat to us and we have to respond,” Tillerson said, speaking to North Korea directly. “We would like to sit and have a dialogue about the future.”

How does he expect the North Koreans or indeed anybody to believe that the US is not seeking regime change in North Korea when that is pretty much all the US talks about and the only debate is how best to achieve it?

Which, by the way, is a violation of the UN charter.

“…but you are presenting an unacceptable threat to us…”

And that unacceptable threat? It’s a threat to not let the US just invade whenever it feels like without suffering consequences.
