You have to hand it to President Obama that he is a natural when it comes to appearing on TV. He seems to be perfectly relaxed and informal, and yet is able to avoid making the kind of gaffes that can occur when your guard is down. This video of him interacting with children who came to the White House on Halloween illustrates how he can goof around with children without looking awkward or ridiculous.

Hilarious that little “Superman” knows Obama as “POTUS”. Maybe his Mom or Dad is a Secret Service agent?
Mano Singham says
The fact that the child got into the White House must mean that at least one parent must be working there. I think everyone working there, not just the Secret Service, refers to him as POTUS and Michelle Obama as FLOTUS. It is easier to say than their full titles and is informal and yet respectful.

Mano:
You too, Mano?
Hierarchical thinking — which I suppose is only appropriate for a hierarchical organisation.
They could be called Obama and Michelle. Also easier to say than their full titles and also informal.
(How would that be disrespectful?)

“Obama and Michelle”
not Barack and Michelle?
John Morales says

“lame duck” was my favorite.

Those kind of gaffes tend only to happen when what’s behind the guard is an arsehole, but the arsehole has enough self-awareness to realise and cares. Which is why Clinton has her guard up all the time, and why Trump doesn’t bother.
The impression I get is that Obama can let his guard down because behind it is a fundamentally decent person.

Michelle referred to an Imperial Stormtrooper as a Ghostbuster. Thanks, Obama!

Holmes @ 9. Ghostbusters are better shots than Imperial Stormtroopers.
