Neoconservative Bill Kristol, whose major accomplishments are pushing for war against Iraq and any other country that happens to not do the bidding of the US and urging John McCain to select Sarah Palin to be his running mate, has exercised his considerable analytical powers to come up with a strategy for dealing with the chaos that his earlier policy recommendations have created in the Middle East.
“Someone said, ‘we can’t just bomb,'” he said, speaking about an ABC panel he was on. “You know, why don’t we just [bomb?] We know where ISIS is. What’s the harm of bombing them at least for a few weeks and seeing what happens? I don’t think there’s much in the way of unanticipated side effects that are going to be bad there. We could kill a lot of very bad guys!”
Yes, what could possibly go wrong? What could possibly be the bad side effects of randomly bombing in the general direction of where we think our current enemies (who may have been our allies in the past and maybe again in the future) are located? Yes, we could kill a lot of “bad guys”. We could also kill a lot of “bad guys” by bombing Wall Street. Oh sure, innocent people will be killed if we bomb Syria or Iraq but those collateral dead are Muslims who had the bad judgment to live in countries that we destabilized so they obviously don’t count.
Is there any other country where prominent people in the media so casually and publicly advocate bombing this or that country just to see what happens?
Kristol is the living proof that there is nothing that you can say that will get you kicked off the TV talk shows in the US as long as you advocate for war.

Kristol has a nearly perfect record of being wrong.
It’s a viable strategy to do the opposite of what he wants.

If Rand Paul somehow wins the GOP nomination, Kristol will endorse Hillary. What % of FTB’ers will vote alongside Kristol in that hypothetical?

Israel?

I know I will never vote for anyone Kristol votes for!

I would vote alongside him. “Even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut.”

WTF is it with americans and bombs? It’s apparently their one-size-fits-all solution. Whatever the problem, dropping a few, or a lot of, bombs will solve it, You know like in Libya just the other day -- or Cambodia a few years back.
Why I even saw a website yesterday where commenters were advocating bombing the latest erupting volcano in Iceland to…..well it wasn’t quite clear but something to do with lava flow blah blah and the USAAC had bombed Mauna Loa back in the 1930s and 1940s and Vesuvius during WW2 because lava flows. No mention that the Icelanders might have some say in doing that or not -- strictly an american prerogative you understand. Also no mention that the volcano is under 700 feet of ice and that lava is being channeled through several dykes in different directions to its outlets so actually hitting the volcano would be more than problematic with unpredictable results. Also no mention of possibility of “collateral damage” (an americanism for death and destruction of civilian populations). Hell no -- just drop a few bombs. End of problem.
