The editor of the Guardian has an excerpt of an interview with Edward Snowden where he seems remarkably calm about his fate and says that he is even resigned to being sent to Guantanamo. He also says that the people working for the NSA routinely shared amongst themselves embarrassing photos that they found while snooping on people.

Somewhat related~ish, saw on the news t’other night that that Julian Assange recently chalked up, two years, I think, of living in the Ecadorian embassy.
I wonder when the statute of limitations runs out and when they’ll give up pursuing him.
The 4Corners (Aussie ABC) episode on that the other year (or was it two now) certainly made a good case I think. I gather the woman (plural?) who responsible for the charges has now withdrawn them and didn’t actually mean to get him arrested -- merely wanted an STD check thingummy.
Of course, I could be wrong.
I hope Snowden does NOT get sent to Guantanamo. -- I don’t think he particularly and anyone generally deserves that or torture.
I also think Manning should be freed.

As usual, you are. If you don’t even know how many women made complaints against Assange in Sweden, why are you commenting on the case? The claim that the women concerned did not want Assange arrested is without foundation (if you dispute this, produce the foundation), and even if the women wished to “withdraw the charges” (for which, again, produce the evidence if you have it), they couldn’t: that would be a decision for the Swedish prosecuting authorities.

What the Swedish authorities do is up to them -- or, at least, you’d hope so wouldn’t you? In practice, I suspect there’s a lot going on behind the scenes we don’t know about.
