Initial polls show Elizabeth Warren has jumped to a small 46-44 lead over incumbent senator Scott Brown, and that Brown’s approval numbers are declining.
Warren does have a problem which is likely not registering in the current polls but will become more acute as the election approaches, which is her relationship with Obama …
(Meaning: she will be publicly attacked because of her relationship with Obama.)
While Warren can’t distance herself from Obama now, a failure to do so when she has more freedom to maneuver could prove to be highly damaging. Team Obama is not and has never been her friend, and the sooner she acts on that knowledge, the better.

Mano, I don’t know much about Elizabeth Warren, so I’m curious. A quick check of her wiki page shows me a person from a background of privilege. While Harvard did not chose to respond to the SALT salary survey in 2010:
I’m guessing that her salary as a Harvard Law professor (in addition to her husband’s, also a Harvard Law professor) makes her NOT part of the middle class.
So I ask — honestly and respectfully — what is it about Ms. Warren that makes her different for you from the countless other privileged politicians who claim to stand for the middle class while they campaign, only to turn their back on us when they enter into office?
Warren did grow up barely clinging on to the fringes of the middle class, but she is now undoubtedly not a member of the middle class.
I do not think that one’s own class status or background completely determines one’s state of class consciousness. People can be traitors to their own class.
Is she such a person or just another politician on the make, using rhetoric to advance her own career? It could turn out that she is the latter since we can never gauge what people truly are like and how they change with circumstances. It is a always a gamble.
All I can say is that I have not seen many warning signs with her so far.

It’s a positive sign that IF Warren was a cynical sell-out she could have done quite well in the Obama administration. Her current political trajectory makes very little sense in that model. True it could just be that her “price” hasn’t been reached yet, but we know a few things she won’t do for political expediency.

Let’s just hope she keeps it up. 🙂
