Nothing will stop the never-ending thread! Nothing!

I have arrived in Minneapolis, with a mere 3 hour drive to get home. However, I have also arrived home to a serious snowstorm, so I’ve been holed up in a hotel all night and am waiting for the stuff to clear a bit this afternoon. It’s aggravating.

And you guys have stuffed another everlasting thread entry with comments! Let’s start again.

This is a nice video that just keeps chugging along and also gives a glimpse of what it looks like out here in Minnesota right now. Except that I really, really wish I could get on a wonderfully civilized train and set off for home, instead of the barbarity of driving a car.

One thing will never end, the endless thread goes on

This is my last day in California, and you people have filled up the cosmic thread I started here. You know there’s only one sentiment I can express here, and the words to this song are just perfect.

On the day I went away… goodbye…
Was all I had to say… now I…
I want to come again and stay… Oh my my…
Smile, and that will mean that I may

Cause I’ve seen blue skies, through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise.. I’m going home.

Everywhere it’s been the same… feeling…
Like I’m outside in the rain… wheeling…
Free, to try and find a game… dealing…
Cards for sorrow, cards for pain

Cause I’ve seen blue skies through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise.. I’m going home.

I’m going home, I’m going home.

My mascara is running. I can’t go on. You’ll all have to keep chattering away for me.

Hairy horde marches on

I just stagger back from yet another long day of travel, and what do I discover? You’ve filled up the las entry in the endless thread again. Does the horde never sleep?

Anyway, we will launch this one with a mystery. Watch this video of an Oregon bigfoot:

Now the mystery. Why is it that all sightings of bigfoot are such obvious scams? They are typically badly done messes like a poor and shaky camera recording, or a pile of rotting meat in a fur suit. This one suffers from overly slick choreography — isn’t it nice how the camera zooms into focus only briefly, just as Bigfoot turns to look at the cameraman? At least this guy invested in a nice hairy man suit and put some effort into the makeup, but it’s still a guy in a costume.

And wait — the creator’s name is “John E. Walker”? Yeah, right.

As if you need anything to talk about, at least you can start by ripping into this video. I have no idea where you’ll end up from there, of course.

The anastomosing thread that never ends!

The last edition of the Never-Ending Thread has once again grown beyond reason, with no end in sight. At the same time, a thread that began with a sneer at creationists and grew to such proportions that it needed to expand to another thread has also bloated up to the point where it needs trimming.

So there I am, holding two tubes on the internet that are pulsing and spewing, ready to cut both off…and what is any scientist’s natural inclination in such circumstances? Why, to take the severed ends and suture them together and see what happens! That is this new thread, an anastomosis between two, count ’em, two old threads. I wonder…will it explode?

I must also confess to some curiosity about how Sven will cope with the fusion.
