This is because poor politics will hurt the entire society.

Having stated that, I understand some people feel burned out. But instead of abandoning politics forever, they should pause until they feel strong enough to face the cacaphony of bad news again.
I personally know people (USA born) who have left the country or are actively working on getting out. My own nephew is in the process of emigrating to Canada. Can’t say I blame them.
