It’s hard to get going in the morning, because we’re all just swimming in lies. The administration lies non-stop — they’re repeating obvious lies over and over, despite the fact that we have multiple videos that allow us to see with our own eyes how false they are.
The echo is repeated over and over again by the media. Fox News only lies, and the lies are expanding into CBS News with the corruption named “Bari Weiss”. But occasionally they slip up.
Pam Bondi has delivered an ultimatum to Minnesota. They will pull ICE out of the state (they say…don’t believe them) IF we do just three things:
“You and your office must restore the rule of law, support ICE officers, and bring an end to the chaos in Minnesota,” Bondi wrote in the letter, which was published by The New York Times and other outlets. “Fortunately, there are common sense solutions to these problems that I hope we can accomplish together.”
To stop the crisis, Bondi directed Walz to repeal Minnesota’s “sanctuary policies” for migrants and share information on its welfare programs, which have been under scrutiny over alleged fraud in government-supported child care centers and million of dollars in funds stolen through a food aid program dating back to the pandemic.
She also requested access to the state’s voter registration records “to confirm that Minnesota’s voter registration practices comply with federal law.”
So she wants an end to policies that protect immigrants, and she wants unfettered access to all the state information on welfare and … voter registration? Donald Trump wants to be able to learn as much as possible about how our citizens vote. You know, our mostly Democratic citizens. This is a crude attempt to undermine democracy.
The state has told her no, flatly, which is good. I’d rather not have ICE knocking on my door because my record shows I’m a reliable, consistent Democratic voter and they want to intimidate people like me.
Impeach Pam Bondi. It would be a good start.

Impeach the lot of them…start with Ding Don, then JD, and so forth. Throwing out the lawless government…Trump & Co…is essential to restoring the “Rule of Law.”
She’ll withdraw the ICE officers after you end the chaos and restore the rule of law? Sounds like a Catch-22.
@2 Especially since the purpose of ICE being there is to cause chaos and demonstrate that the government is not subject to the rule of law.
The purpose of the ICE rampages and murders in Minneapolis is to make us Americans afraid of the fascist Federal government.
The Trump regime clearly isn’t the least bit bothered that their agents are killing innocent people on camera for no good reason.
It isn’t working!!!
I’m an old aged Boomer.
I should be afraid of them. They have all the guns, tear gas, rubber bullets, clubs, and pepper spray and I don’t.
What I do have is a cell phone camera.
I’m not afraid of them.
What I am is getting more and more angry and more and more determined to oppose the MAGA fascists any way I can.
I’ve been out in the streets at demonstrations 7 times this last year. I’ll be out again for the next ones.
I’ve seen the same thing in Minneapolis.
People are being assaulted, tear gassed, arrested, and killed and they are still out in the streets protesting against ICE and fascism.
Way back in my naive youth I figured that if there was film or video of something, that should end all dispute (this was the era in which the NHL was starting to make instant replay available to referees, in case there was some dispute about a call). Then came the Rodney King case, in which there was (long distance, somewhat fuzzy IIRC) footage, which the defense proceeded to micro-analyze, arguing that it didn’t show what it plainly showed. In the current cases we have multiple high-quality videos from different angles — and the liars are still telling us not to believe what we’re plainly seeing.
There lots of other things top be outraged about. ICE detainees sleeping on bare concrete floors covered by thin mylar “space blankets”. Government agencies denying congress persons rights to inspect government facilities. High ranking GOP politicians telling us these ICE agents have absolute immunity. When come election day the Democrats sweep Congress these outrages will have to be outlawed with no wiggle room.
Speaking of nazi-adjacent people: Kanye West buys full-page ad apologizing, and saying he is not a nazi.
.
As Trump has never apologised for anything, and has a more malign mental condition than one just compelling him to make offensive
statements, Kanye West is now officially a better choice for US president than the current one.
The quote “who are you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?” comes to mind.

Donald Trump says he is sending his ‘border czar’ Tom Homan to Minnesota.
Good news! Now you just have to give him a brown paper bag with $$$ and he will make ICE go away.
Directly related comment. So, we see the photos of Gregory Bovino, senior tactical commander for Border Patrol, stomping around cosplaying an Afghan Warlord. I know it seems somewhat ‘ad hominem’, but the truth of the matter, along with his actions, reinforce the validity that the name bovino seems to be based in the word bovine, which is literally BULL.
Minnesota DFL (Democratic Party) says $%!&$!¡
@10: I fear that a bag of $$$ won’t be enough — they want the voter rolls! Of course, the White House knows absolutely nothing about that, it’s not their fault, trust them.
Pam Bondi has revealed what I have been saying all along: None of this has anything to do with immigration. Sure, disappearing immigrants is still one of their evil goals and puts a smile on their face, but that’s not the real operation going on.
This has everything to do with preventing a blow-out in the mid-terms, because these evil fucks know damn well that most of America hates Trump and the rest of the MAGAt cult, and they are going to lose, and then will have lost their control of Capitol Hill and will staring down the barrel of investigations and impeachments.
So they are doing everything possible to provoke us to lash out — they want a crisis, hell they would even relish a full blow civil war. Anything to release the hounds and try to contain, cancel or contest the election results, which they know they are doomed.
Just like Venezuela. I am convinced that the only reason they were blowing up boats in the waters was to try and provoke Venezuela to strike back. Then there would have been their excuse for a full-on war. Venezuela never took the bait, so MAGA Reich had to go with plan B.
It is cold now, but I expect this is going to be a long, hot summer leading up to the mid-terms, and they will do everything they can to provoke us so they have an excuse to use an iron hammer. I also suspect Minneapolis is just a test case, and this will be coming to a swing state city near you. Watch out, Philadelphia.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
If she believes Minnesota’s voter registration practices don’t comply with federal law, she should say how and get a court to agree.
Straight out of the NAZI Handbook.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote, “The broad masses of a nation more readily fall victim to the big lie than to the small lie,” suggesting people’s simplicity makes them susceptible.
Joseph Goebbels: He is widely cited as the source for the maxim, “A lie told once remains a lie but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth”
I think that donald trump is incapable of a) wanting to learn and b) learning anything.
None of this shit comes from his head. It is all put in there by other more devious players, and trump just unthinkingly shits it out his mouth because he is an imbecile.
From my own observations of his second term (I still find that fact un-fucking-believable!) he has no effective rudder himself but evidently he can be easily steered.
Nick, or he really doesn’t give a damn.
Unfortunately, one cannot impeach a federal officer for being merely not just a talented amateur, but highly skilled professional, complete asshole.
It requires treason, bribery, or “high crimes and misdemeanors”†… which, I think, we’ve seen. Not just from Bondi, but from Noem, at least three other ICE/Border Patrol officials, and from whichever other supervisors at the DoJ attempted to suppress investigation of the
cretin“officer” who shot Rachel Good. (Not Stephen Miller — he’s not in a post subject to impeachment, as he appears to probably not be a true “federal officer”; he truly does serve “at the pleasure of the President.” That said, unlike the others he’s subject to criminal prosecution without regard to federal-officer immunity if he directed/influenced unlawful acts — at minimum for conspiracy to violate civil rights, 18 U.S.C. § 241.)† Highly technical term in the common law; this isn’t the place to try to unwind it, it requires many footnotes and still doesn’t come to an unambiguous meaning.
John Morales @ 19
AND he really doesn’t give a damn.
Reading Heather Cox Richardson’s newsletter tonight (dated Jan 27), I would say the Trumpers are about to fold in Minnesota. We’ll see, of course, but lots of Republicans are saying whoa, and congressional Republicans are calling for investigations. Looks like Bovino is gone and Noem may be on the ropes. Steve Bannon is mouthing off about organized and paid “domestic terrorists” running things in Minneapolis, but even mainstream Republicans aren’t buying it…or at least they’re beginning to see the mid-terms as a huge loss for them. Even Greg Abbott said something about Ding Don needing to “recalibrate”…that means stop or we’ll get smeared. Bless his little pea-picking heart…I might need to send him some thoughts and prayers. Of course, if other prominent Republicans smell an opportunity to push Donnie to the side, they will. He’s proven that there’s money to be made, and they want more of it.
Oh, and Walz said in his response to Bondi demanding Minnesota voter records: There are two million Epstein files…why don’t you work on that.
