One of our colleagues came back from their break in Jordan with treats for us all.
And some people don’t properly appreciate immigrants from diverse backgrounds.
The bad thing is that now I’ll have to avoid the mailroom all day so that I’m not tempted.

What are they?
I recognize the baklava, I don’t know what the rest are.
I miss having a turkish grocery store within walking range – they had very similar stuff.
No way can I resist baklava.
Oh, that looks delicious. Reminds me of one of my favourite coworker. Son of Turkish immigrants, father came here to work in a local foundry, he studied and got a job in IT. Every time his wife (well, he had a somewhat traditional family, but great care his daughter got the best possible education) made some traditional treats, she would make enough for him to bring a big pile to work! Also he was the only one in that team who was always ready to help you out instead of trying to dump his work on you…
Are those pistachio based on the right? I tried a pistachio based chocolate treat I found in the checkout aisle a while back. Dubai Chocolate Knafeh. It was too decadent.
From my experience, tho I’m no expert, a lot of middle eastern desserts are variations on the baklava theme, i.e. filo dough with various fillings of nuts, fruits or custard sweetened with honey syrup. I have no clue what they’re named. I just call them delicious.
Yeah, a lot of those on the right look pistachio-based.
The fact that Dubai Chocolate has become a trending thing over the last couple of years (even Lindt has made a Dubai Chocolate bar) has sent the price of pistachios soaring.
But surely the Indian city of Kandy never contributed any delicacies?
