I walked down the road to the mighty White River, a fast moving stream that descends from the Cascades carrying a load of glacial silt, which is how it gets its name. I had to stop and take a photo.
I was just along the White River’s headwaters a month ago at Mt. Rainier/Tahoma. It’s really spectacular and I should’ve stayed longer. Several very pretty parks outside the NP boundary along the river. Ignore the clear cuts on the other side…

I wonder if scrumptious meals get blown down and into her web by the drafts driven by the flow of the water and the chill it causes to the atmosphere around it. This lovely fat specimen might be dining in a smorgasbord restaurant.
