Look who’s smiling

Here’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders signing an Arkansas bill to make more kids eligible for child labor.

Look at those kids!

Here’s Tim Walz signing a Minnesota bill to provide free school lunches to kids.

Look at those kids.

Which one is the party of family again?

To underscore the point, here’s some news from Tex-ass.

Lawyers for the State of Texas on Monday tried to convince a U.S. appeals court that it should not be fined for failures in investigations of abuse and neglect of intellectually disabled children.

I’d show you photos of the children’s response, but it’s hard to smile with a broken jaw.

One investigation into a child called “Child C” was delayed a year. The same child was once dropped off at a hospital by staff of C3 Academy, where she lived, with a broken jaw. That was just one of several incidents that the child endured, according to court documents.

If those kids have the right to work, they should also have the right to vote.

@ ^ chigau (違う) : will the child labourers get paid and then taxed on what they paid? Taxation without representation& all that?

Or will it just be Dickensean children get fed / housed (badly) maybe if they’re lucky as if that’s okay.

That picture of Sarah Huckabee Sanders could be straight out of some dark Roald Dahl story where the orphaned kids are slaves to some monstrous adult.

Those poor kids in the AR picture. I’m guessing they understand that they’re in the presence of bad people who are celebrating something designed to hurt kids like themselves.

@9 Erland – wait, did he really say that, or are you just saying what he should say?
If he did say that, wow. I would try to add a couple more home addresses and commit Republican voter fraud just to vote for him 3 times.

I’ve been avoiding commenting here for nearly 2 years I think, but I was interested in seeing your take on Tim Walz. Congratulations, Minnesota! Walz does seem like one of the good guys. I’m suddenly excited about this election (very nervous too).

    — Why Trump supporters are calling Walz ‘Tampon Tim’

    — Republicans are being widely mocked for referring to Harris VP pick Tim Walz as ‘Tampon Tim’ ”

Democrats: “Can Republicans be any more creepy and weird?”
    Republicans: “Hold my beer”

Maybe Vance should slow down a little, watch the Olympics, read some books written by people who’ve never appeared on Fox, be a couch potato for a while… oh, wait…

He definitely shouldn’t pretend to have any expertise on “national security issues” given the particulars of his military record, though. He doesn’t have to pretend to be a veteran, I’ll certainly grant him that. Any pretense at actually understanding anything about national security coming from an enlisted Marine whose job was not combat-readiness related, though, needs to be supported by something else — and it’s a “something else” he wouldn’t have gotten at Yale Law, a Senate internship for an ignoramus, a short stint as a “corporate lawyer,” or working as a venture capitalist.

I do know that I wouldn’t mind stuffing a few down certain rethuglikkkan throats.

Sarah Huckabee’s smile is also as fake as it gets.

There’s nothing at all fake about her smile — she really does enjoy being what she is and doing what she does.
