Sort of good news, I guess: Trump has consented to allow the transition to begin. He still promises to continue to fight, and thinks he’s going to win.
He’s going to whine over every inch he is compelled to surrender.
Every day he demonstrates his pettiness and immaturity, yet his idolators can’t see it. Let him be dragged out painful millimeter by painful millimeter until he’s in a garbage can on Pennsylvania Avenue for curbside pickup. (In reality, he’s likely to sneak out on January 19 to avoid seeing any of the celebrations of his departure.)

Money talks. He lashed out at any Republican politician that asked him to accept the results and allow transition. Not now.

It’s a cult of personality. That combined with the fact that Republicans are more loyal to their party than they are to their country and you get shit like this.

He only tweeted this out after she had already announced her intention to move forward and sign off on the transition. This isn’t even an admission on Trump’s part, it’s just face-saving after the fact.
I was wondering about that, stwrileym, but I had not bothered to check the timings.

b) I couldn’t think of a better way to muse about the following.. so I’m just being lazy.
I’m watching a recorded “Austin City Limits” with Rufus Wainwright.
I haven’t seen him in years, and he’s now a middle-aged guy with a grey beard.
I was remarking to my wife about how different he looks, compared to my memory of him….
Then it hit me.
He now bears a passing resemblance to PZ.
Rufus has a longer face, but at a quick glance.. I think they could be brothers.
So, if you’re a fan of Rufus Wainwright, I wanted to infect you with my new brain worm.. I’ll probably now see PZ singing in my mind’s eye every time I hear a Rufus Wainwright song.
BTW..
If you’re not familiar with Rufus Wainwright.. I found a good description of his music tonight. Someone described it as “Baroque Pop”.
“Pop” gives the categorization a ding In my book, but it’s hard to argue that the overall impression that Baroque Pop gives isn’t fitting in this case.. especially when Rufus does something akin to.. what I’m now calling.. Baroque Scat.
What does GSA being allowed to preliminarily work with the Dems have to do with continuing to pursue our various cases on what will go down as the most corrupt election in American political history? We are moving full speed ahead. Will never concede to fake ballots & “Dominion”.

As pointed out earlier, Trump’s tweet came out after Murphy’s statement. Seems like a failure to coordinate their change in position. Also, in her statement she said she was “never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official — including those who work at the White House or GSA — with regard to the substance or timing of my decision,” but Trump says he told her to start. Perhaps there’s a disconnect in the messaging.
Oh well, as long as they pack up and leave.

I’don’t know if he’s seriously preparing for a 2024 run, or just grifting, but for a good while now his main message will be framed as “we must overturn the fraudulent 2020 election!” This will continue after he leaves office, if he has access to a platform. It might take years until this line evolves into “we must win this time to get justice for the fraudulent 2020 election!” The grievance itself will never go away, as long as he’s making noises.

Trump has been retweeting some Randy Quaid stuff this morning. As some of you may know Quaid went off the rails a decade or so ago. He even tried to get political asylum in Canada because he claimed a secret group was killing Hollywood celebrities, and that he was one of their targets. But hey, he said nice things about Trump, and some mean things about Fox News. This includes saying there should be a “do-over” of the 2020 election.

Seriously, if I somehow ever ended up in the Whitehouse I would create a site, and post the details of everything I wanted to do, every bill, whether I vetoed it or not, or it even hit my desk or not, after it was dead, along with a clear detailed list of every shady thing “both” sides tried to slip into the thing, etc. I would make it f-ing impossible for the GOP to claim that I wasn’t “doing” anything, or “trying to do anything”, or lie about what my proposals, and their own, really are, and leave no freaking doubt, if nothing got done, who the F was responsible. Then.. we would see who dared to “run” the next time, with bullshit promises that the Right will save the nation.
Half the freaking problems we have is that there is no such clear, accessible, the public is fully aware of it, etc. place to get this king of stuff, and, ultimately, the only “version” they will ever see of a bill is what ever got passed, not an itemized list of what changed, when, why, and who demanded it in trade for doing jack all at all. Let the light shine, as bright as a spot light, on the scum screwing with “deals” while the public see nothing from it.
But, sadly, this is just a sad, empty, dream…
