I politely informed this little grass spider that I was not interested in a ménage à trois.
I’m going to keep mentioning Children of Time by Adrien Tchaikovsky in comments on spider postings until I’m sure PZ has seen them. He really needs to read this excellent sf book, where many of the main protagonists are spiders. It is a must-read for spider lovers.

It is a pity you don’t get Jewel Spiders there. So much more photogenic and there are always lots to be found out in the bush.
