Here’s Oz, promoting astrology now.
Some say that the season of your birth may have an influence on your health. Today, an astrologist is here to share your health horoscope. Plus, Todd Fisher opens up about losing his sister #CarrieFisher and his mother #DebbieReynolds. You don’t want to miss it. pic.twitter.com/zo2shFF5U5

Shameless.

Good grief. And I thought he had hit rock bottom with homeopathy.

Going by what twitter is saying, pretty much everyone is disgusted. Seriously, who watches this guy?

Apparently, the offending tweet has been deleted. Have we finally discovered Oz is capable of shame?
Probably not.
robro says
tacitus — Probably not shame, but reacting to negative publicity.

Quackery seems ascendant these days. I’ve just been watching a Grandmaster chess tournament in Norway via the intertoobs, and have to sit through adds for water with extra oxygen added. Touting the health benefits of it. Am I a fish? Also they had an interview with a former Miss Universe explaining how the water had benefited her so very very much. So much for chess as an intellectual pursuit!
Mind you, the games were pretty exciting.

Can the stupidity of America get any lower? I thought it had peaked with Bush 43, but this is a bottomless pit.

Reminds me of a standup routine I saw a few weeks ago.
“I use astrology to check compatibility with women I’m dating. If she believes in it, we’re not compatible.”

Years ago I went to a job interview, only to be told that they couldn’t hire me because I’m a Virgo and the manager didn’t get along with Virgos. I was so grateful to them for making me aware that the company was run by nuts and no place I wanted to work.

Yeah, last time I saw him speaking was in a courtroom where he was being asked to clarify his use of the word ‘magic’ in what ever snake oil he was pushing at the time. He seems more and more ok with lying as time passes… I wonder what his medical alumni think of his showmanship.

@#6 weylguy: Stupidity is limitless. Einstein is said to have pointed that out.

But then from what I’ve seen the chess scene is rife with causal sexism and assholery… if only a horoscope or drop of water could heal that.. hah!
WMDKitty -- Survivor says
…and we’re just now figuring this out? Dude’s been a quack since his Oprah days.

Well, Trump, for one, seeing how he is nominating this quack and scammer to a position in his administration.

There are certainly plenty of assholes playing chess, but then there are plenty of assholes everwhere. I played in tournaments for 50 years and met plenty of them, but on the other hand the number seemed broadly comparable with the general population, although of course it’s a small sample. Most of the top Grandmasters these days seem remarkably un neurotic and pretty decent as people. Maybe they just hide their attitudes better.
No one at the top of the game these days is crazy line Bobby Fischer. There are more women in the game these days and maybe exposure helps.

If there are sufficient marks to supply easily made money by peddling nonsensical pseudo-medical BS, Oz is absolutely on it! Oz is so bigly great with the lies that Trump even hired him!
zetopan says
“if only a horoscope or drop of water could heal that”
And they *always* completely miss the importance of performing a horoscope analysis of that drop of homeopathic water before using it for the “cure”! How utterly irresponsible!
laurian says
Oh for fuck’s sake. And isn’t nekkid fellers in the center of a circle Satanic and shite?
Sean Boyd says
Oz missed an opportunity there. Why ask Todd Fisher how it feels to lose both sister and mom in short order, when he could hold a seance and reconnect the trio?
