I have been fortunate to hear one Pixar’s chief scientists speak at Apple’s WWDC a couple of times. Their attention to detail and the time they put into these projects is amazing.

#3 at least 2 years earlier there was “The Adventures of Andre and Wally B”. The first stick man animations were done in 1963 – I wonder what would have happened if Randall Munroe had worked for them then!
