I only recently ‘learned’ that succubi and incubi are the male and female aspects of a particular kind of demon. In ‘fact’, after a succubus has seduced some weak human male into making a deposit, she can turn into a he and has something to then donate to a woman, who of course becomes pregnant with and possessed by the new baby demon. Gruesomeness ensues.
I expect there are as many variants to the tale as there are tellers of such things.
