That banana seems to be hosting some kind of parasite. It’s not something that will metamorphose into a clone of Kirk Cameron, is it?

On a serious note, what gives the cells color the lipid bilayer? I am red, green color blind so please keep that in mind and How can I tell what is colored for what reason? In my Bio 111 Intro to bio-chem Book “Campell*Reece*Urry*Cain*Wasserman*Jackson”

Nope.
1) Cytochromes (literally “cell colors/dyes”). Those occur in the membranes of mitochondria. The more mitochondria a tissue has, the darker it is. That’s the difference between white meat and dark meat.
2) Chlorophyll in the case of plants. Occurs in the internal membranes of chloroplasts.
3) Melanin and a few other, less widespread pigments.
4) Arthropod cuticles, scales and feathers can iridesce depending on their microscopic structure.

Thanks!
Please forgive my cheap internet that loves to quit on me. I was thinking of Proteomics as in all the in’s and outs a cell has does this not influence the color as well? It is the first thing one would see the light reflected off of is it not?
