Trumpgrets Are Infuriating

First off, thanks to Caine for linking to this Tumblr. It’s called Trumpgrets. I went through it the first time just laughing, enjoying the schadenfreude I felt at all this. I even said the following on Facebook:

Trump Voters: “We need an outsider who tells it like it is! He’ll break up the establishment and Make America Great Again!”

Trump: *fills his administration with Washington and Wall Street insiders and members of the establishment, plus a few actual White Supremacists*

Trump Voters: *fill with regret* https://trumpgrets.tumblr.com/

Me: “Fuck all of you.”

But now, I’m going back through it, and I’m genuinely pissed off. What were these assholes watching? How could they have been so damned confused about which candidate Trump was and which candidate Clinton was? It seems to me like, somehow, they completely flipped them! Did they think Trump was running as the Democrat and Clinton was running as the Republican, or something?

I mean… what the hell?

Below the fold are a few choice examples that really angered me…

Here’s the first one:

@realDonaldTrump i really hope my vote was not wasted. I work for 2$ less that the men and do twice the work its not fair!!!

Are you fucking kidding me? You voted for Donald Trump!

DONALD TRUMP!

At what point did you think Donald “Grab her by the pussy” Trump would be the *feminist* candidate who would fix wage inequality? I actually remember Clinton talking about fixing that… how did you confuse them?

Here’s the second one:

Tweet #2

@realDonaldTrump I am a Senior Vet who would be dead without Medicare, and Little Social Security I live on $789 Month. Please don’t take!!

Then why, in the name of reality, are you a Republican? If you’re so worried about losing your Medicare, why would you ever be anything even close to a Republican? I would dearly love to know why anyone thinks the Republicans are the party of protecting Medicare! Since when has that ever been the case?

You voted for Donald fucking Trump, you ignorant asshole. How could you have expected anything else?

Here’s the third one:

Tweet #3

@AnnCoulter I can’t believe Ryan is now gonna phase out medicare . Next step s.s. ? This is not what I wanted from a trump administration.

Do these people live in an alternate universe where the Republican platform includes strong support for welfare programs like Medicare and Social Security? Because back here in my universe, it’s the Democrats who support and strengthen both, not the fucking Republicans.

I mean hello

Here’s the fourth one:

Tweet #4

.@realDonaldTrump So don’t make me regret my vote. This isn’t funny. I went against many things I believe in, in hopes jobs will be created.

I went against many things I believe in

I WENT AGAINST MANY THINGS I BELIEVE IN

Because you thought Donald “four of my businesses have declared bankruptcy and have my products made in China” Trump would bring back jobs?

Fuck you.

Here’s the fifth one:

Tweet #5

@realDonaldTrump I voted for you because I was in fear for the freedom of speech. Don’t make me regret it.

Right. Because Donald “I want to open up libel laws and sue everyone who says mean things about me” Trump is totes in favor of freedom of speech.

But let’s be honest, here… what you were actually afraid of losing was the freedom to be a bigot. Don’t lie…

—————————————————————–

Oh man… I thought that Tumblr would make me feel better, but it actually made me livid all over again.

I fucking hate people.

Why are people?

Whereas in the real universe, the Democrats have no concern for either and are happy to let the Republicans destroy both in the name of “compromise.”

I went against many things I believe in

I WENT AGAINST MANY THINGS I BELIEVE IN

Because you thought Hillary “five countries bombed in colonial wars of aggression” Clinton would stop the mass genocide?

    ———-

@realDonaldTrump I voted for you because I was in fear for the freedom of speech. Don’t make me regret it.

Right. Because Hillary “Snowden, Manning, and Kiriakou are traitors” Clinton is totes in favor of freedom of speech.

Nope, that can’t be it. Hillary Clinton is a Democrat and therefore perfect by definition, therefore anyone who opposes her must be motivated by a moral defect such as racism.

It would be nice if the Trumpkins could have figured out they were wrong before it was too late to be any good, but since the Clintoners still haven’t figured out they were wrong I’ll give them a micropoint for their effort.

Meaning that, just like their candidate, the Trumpkins shot themselves in both feet but won anyway simply because the Clintoners shot themselves in both feet and kneecapped themselves.

@Jake Harban : Sod your false equivalency and Hillary-bashing based on Republican lies about her over decades that have been repeatedly conclusively debunked.

You know there’s a world of difference between the policies and competence and reasonable-ness of Hillary Rodham Clinton vs FakeTan Franco.

A feminist experienced candidate who btw won the popular vote who was by megaparsecs the better of the two versus a narcissistic con-artist bully with zero qualification, zero aptitude for the actual job who hangs with actual Neo-flippin’-Nazis and was endorsed by the KuKlux Klan.

You are still slamming the former and shrugging off the latter which you with your undermining and parrroting of media hateful lies helped to elect.

One of those who got this election most wrong is you and yet still you don’t seem to opened your flipping blinkers to that reality and seen how badly you Jake-Hillary-Hating-Harban have fouled up. Still in denial about your own wilful, hateful destructive

Have you no shame or decency at all, Jake Harban, you deplorable excuse for a human being?

  3. StevoR says

    @ ^ Correction & expansion -- sorry, sentence ends :

(Jake Harban clearly is -- ed.) Still in denial about your own wilful, hateful destructive corrosive effect on thiselection and consequently this pale blue dot we all live on.

As you can see; not sure if I can swear on this blog or not or what the comment policy here is -- did look but couldn’t see it so apologies, Nathan Hevenstone, if breached in what I’ve said here and feel free to edit accordingly but ye-non-existent-gods this clueless wilfully hatefully blind dropkick angers me.

Also on the choice that was made this :

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy/2016/11/07/hillary_clinton_will_make_a_fine_president_donald_trump_will_be_a_disaster.html

By Phil Plait of the Bad Astronomy blog pre-election sums it up so well and is seconded by me for whatever little use it is now.

This is nothing new, and if Americans had more experience with populists, it wouldn’t be surprising to them either.

It’s like a magic show for kids, where the basic tricks have already been revealed, but the audience still doesn’t pay attention to the fact, that the illusionist refuses to reveal who the inside people are, they’d be out of a job. Conservatives have rejected Jeb, because pundits have underestimated just how much Dubya has tarnished the image that Reagan left behind, and as a result wanted someone who doesn’t represent the Bush administration, and got duped.

Any rational thinking person had foreseen, that the only crowd he has to please is the one accepting his appointments by the power which they hold over both houses. The bunny came out of the hat, the audience clapped, and spent no thought on just how many bunnies the illusionist has, and how much it does cost to feed them, as they are not part of the troupe. Several leaders, who are like minded now project Canaan, but one needs to not go further, than the UK to see, what economic uncertainty can cause. To nobody’s surprise, suddenly no one wants to leave the union only to be left broke ass afterward.

I do commend, that a Wall Street guy will handle finance, as they can stop his stupid idea of going into a trade war the US can’t win, and finally start to think about the fact, that most menial jobs are lost to industrial robots, not foreigners, ergo they won’t come back.

I know how you feel, Nathan, I felt the same way myself. Is it good that a few people have stopped lying to themselves? Yes. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many of them, and most of those who are upset are those who have realized that their most vicious fantasies might not be carried out. It’s a damn sad and infuriating indictment on our society.

    @SteveOr

I haven’t exactly fleshed out a major commenting policy yet, other than this being a space where bigotry of any kind is not tolerated. I am fleshing one out slowly, and should probably turn first-time moderation back on, too. But no, you didn’t violate anything from what I can see. You didn’t punch down in your comment; it wasn’t bigoted. So your fine.

As for cussing… the only cuss words I want avoided here are misogynistic, racist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, and ableist slurs. Otherwise, cuss to your heart’s content. I certainly do.

    As for Jake Harban…

I’m not going to put you on auto-mod for your willful ignorance about Hillary Clinton, but I suggest you watch yourself. You are commenting on the blog of someone who very much regrets not doing more to support her. That you want to blame her (and her supporters) for Trump’s election is utter bullshit. SteveOr is absolutely right that Clinton was light-years better than Trump. That is a simple fact..
