He was running away. He had a gun in an open-carry state. But of course, as we know, open carry laws are only for white people; they are death sentences for innocent black people.

And of course a huge segment of the population is going to focus on the fact that Milwaukee had outbreaks of civil unrest and that the National Guard were called out. They’re going to whine and moan and gripe that black people were “destroying their communities” and tell us that “this isn’t the way to accomplish your goals”, but not one iota of criticism will be given to the police forces for their disproportionate application of brutality against black bodies. No thought will be given to why many black folks feel so disenfranchised that they turn to civil unrest. No consideration for the fact that many black people feel the criminal justice system has never been fair for us and there’s no other recourse. No understanding that as MLK, Jr said “riots are the language of the unheard”.
So tired of the white supremacy in this country.

Tomorrow I’m reposting “White Supremacy and Violence”. It’s not perfect, but it illustrates the point…

I just posted something yesterday about the subject myself.

I know. It was great.

I was recently unfriended on FB for sharing some posts about this incident that were critical of police.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.
