I sign out of Outlook and it takes me to msn.com. I generally avoid news but some imp of the perverse makes me look at the headlines on the scroll there. And today, I was treated to the following:
Mass shooting in Texas. Mass shooting in Wisconsin. Orange prick John Boehner says mass shootings are national embarrassment. And Mass shooting in Nebraska.
I’m not looking into those articles, but short question for anyone with more fortitude: Did we literally just have three mass shootings in one day? Is this fucking nonsense for real?

There seems to be an archive at https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting, showing a shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin today.
And the Boston Globe is showing a shooting in Austin, Texas–probably too recent for the above website.
But good news! The Nebraska shooting seems to be from yesterday, killing one and injuring one, so maybe the low casualty count doesn’t crack the criteria for a mass shooting.
Hey, GAS. I just submitted a comment that got swallowed. FTB doesn’t seem to like it if I have a link citation. Maybe you can fish it out of the spam bin?
apnews.com has reports on shootings in Wisconsin and Indiana – so that’s at least 2 in one day, maybe 4…
It looks like a combination of Saturday and Sunday, but yes. Three mass shootings in 24 hours.

Saturday, Omaha, Nebraska. 1 dead, 1 injured.
Sunday morning, Austin, Texas. 3 dead
Sunday morning, Kenosha, Wisconsin. 3 dead, two injured.
From the link: “According to a tally from the Gun Violence Archive, mass shootings are outpacing the number of days so far in 2021, with more than one mass shooting happening a day per average.”
Thanks for the info, everybody. Hey, at least is wasn’t 3 total massacres. No need to panic, right?
I am weary.
Did we literally just have three mass shootings in one day?
They are not mass shootings, they are “freedom slaughters.”
