What About Pillowfort?

Pillowfort was conceived, whatever else they say, as a tumblr knockoff that was supposed to be distinguished by having effective blocking to prevent people from having to catch nazi URLs on their dash every day.  They finally opened the gates – you don’t need an invite to get a Pillowfort account now.

But who’s using this?  Let alone the thing which it was meant to replace.  Tumblr has withered on the vine.  It’s still my only social media because sweet hell FB and Twitter are you kidding?  But there’s literally one tenth the traffic on my dash that there used to be.  Everyone is off to Instagram or Pinterest or who knows.

I tried to find something to follow on Pillowfort and it’s been a total waste of time so far.  Good for the tumblr sex worker accounts to have a new platform I guess, but that’s not what I’m on social media for.  Where are people hanging out now?  What’s happenin’ with the kids these days?

FTB is still the closest thing to social media I interact with. No Tumblr, no Twitter, no fb, no Whatsapp, no Pinterest, zip. Dang kids, get off my lawn!

I have a Pillowfort, had one since the beta. Although, I probably don’t use it the way you might be expecting. I treat it like another blogging platform but with a different audience & flavor. Truth be told I used Tumblr the same way.

I have very little interest in actually trying to sell Pillowfort as a platform. But, if you’re trying to figure out how to get started and who to follow (a problem that I don’t have because I just don’t feel the need to follow more people), I feel like I should at least put some minimal effort to help. osteophage, who I follow, had some links for people new to pillowfort on this page.

NEW GROUNDS?! Wow. That’s a blast from the past. I recently heard it still exists bc The Death of Flash brought it back to focus for a minute, but I didn’t clock that it had any real traffic at this point. That’s far out.
