Football. Germany. Frankfurt v Dortmund. Frankfurt’s Hans Seferovic scored the winning goal. He dedicated the goal to Tuğçe Albayrak.
Seferovic lifted his jersey after the goal to reveal a written tribute to Tugce on his undershirt, with the hashtags “civil courage,” “angel,” “courage,” and “respect.”

I hope the German league does the sensible thing and keeps quiet. Some leagues say “no political statements on the field”. Taking ‘action’ against Seferovic would not be a good move.
Meanwhile on the other side of the Atlantic, cops and other members of the far right are claiming “offense” because of the pre-game gesture on Sunday by members of the St. Louis Rams. I suspect the NFL will punish them.
